SCAA eLearning
The Surface Coatings Association Australia (SCAA) has long been a provider of technical education to the Surface Coatings industry.
The Advanced Course in Surface Coatings Technology is intended for technical staff, such as laboratory chemists and technicians and is utilised by paint or ink manufacturers, raw material suppliers or manufacturers who are users of coatings.
The Introduction to Surface Coatings course is aimed at providing an introduction to the technology, production methods and application processes used in the wider surface coatings industry for interested participants who have no formal chemistry or other technical training.

Advanced course in Surface Coatings Technology
The course consists of 49 lessons, structured into 6 units. Early units cover the materials used in coating manufacture: polymers, pigments, solvents and additives. The later units cover the formulation and applications of surface coating products.
The recommended pre-requisites are a degree or diploma in chemistry, or relevant industry experience. The eLearning course is self-paced and should take around 60+ hours to complete.
Introduction to Surface Coatings course
The course is aimed at providing an introduction to the technology, production methods and application processes used in the wider surface coatings industry.
The course is intended to provide sufficient information for an interested participant with no formal chemistry or other technical training to gain a working knowledge of the technical aspects of products used in the industry.
